Zayn Malik of One Direction is one of the most beautiful men on this planet. Fact. But would we still think so if he shaved his head?

Zayn’s hair is one of his trademarks, aside from his tats and swoon-worthy voice, but he’s getting tired of all the effort it takes to get it right in the morning. And to be fair, it definitely doesn’t look like an easy style to perfect–short on the sides, long on top, perfectly coiffed and tousled just right. Just because something looks effortless doesn’t mean it is! Imagine all the extra Zs Zayn could get if he wasn’t in the bathroom mirror (or, let’s be real, a hair stylist’s chair) for hours!

As a result of all the time it takes to get ready in the morning, Zayn Malik asked his fans if he should shave his head completely or grow all of his hair out. Directioners insisted he grow it out, and that if he hates it, then and only then to shave it off. Fair enough, and a pretty safe idea, but it made us think: Would Directioners still heart Zayn if he had a shorn ‘do?

There are plenty of cute guys with not much hair up top–think Channing Tatum (ow ow!). But if you really like a dude, whether it’s Zayn Malik or your crush from algebra class, what he does with his hair shouldn’t matter. Just like you want guys to like you for you, you should like them for who they are, too. After all, that’s what makes you beautiful!
