I’m 15 and have been on the shot for 6 months. I’ve been on my period for 5 months and still going. I’m deffinately switching to the pill. It sucks because I can’t take pills on time. I’ll need an alarm.
I had the same problem! I had to just switch back to the pill! I felt that convenience was not more important than comfort. I couldn’t deal and I wish I was like other gurls and didn’t have as many problems with birth control as I do.
Having your Period For 5 weeks . i SWEAR that if i were you i’ve probably Become nuts but you hold up and you still going through this, really ! you are a survavior Stay STRONG everything will be alright
My period’s barely 5 days long. Lucky me I guess. I use Always Infinity pads and they’re AMAZING. You can barely feel them and they hold a lot of blood so you don’t have to change them very often. They’re way more comfortable than tampons are (for me) so I rarely ever use tampons anymore!
when im old enough im getting that surgery thing where u cant have kids like they take something out and i think u dont have a period then my aunt got it THAT WOULD ROCK i havnt had it yet thank goodness but when i do i bet it will SUCK
Wow. . . I had no idea you could have a period that long. . . I have mine for eight days and I get freaked out. But I get more freaked out by the way it comes irregular. My mom says I should take birth control. Should I?
I thought i was the only one with an eight day period, I absolutely hate it, I have thought about asking for birth control, I think you should, it will help with other things too, go for it, but it’s still your choice
Some girls have way longer periods. Since I was twelve mine have been unpredictable and for three years I had 30 day periods. I almost had to have a blood transfusion from everything I was losing and had to be put on iron pills. It really sucks.
I’ve been on Depo for three and a half years. I decided to start taking it because I had pain so bad i would vomit and faint. When I first got the shot, my period lasted for about a month. Now, I have not had a period since then. It’s great in my opinion. A little bit pricey at amount $80.00 every 12 weeks for the injection. But if you aren’t active or have been on it for as long as me, the doctors will not require you to do a pee test which is 15-20 $$.
Also I never had it injected in my butt…. the doctors I’ve been with say they only put in in the arm or knee because it spreads quicker.
I had a period over 2 months long (without any drugs). When I started to go through a heavy tampon in an hour we went to the doctor and found out my lining was almost 2 centimeters thick. He put me on birth control and it helped but it still gets wacky. I use an alarm on my phone to remind me to take the pills.
he said there was a small chance for that to happen because she had already started her period …how rude can you get…she was actually smart to do the shot or she could be worse right onow…she could be PREGNANT
That’s exactly why I didn’t get the shot. When the doctor told me there was a possibility of me having a period for three months I immediately turned it down and went for the pill. I already feel miserable and disgusting when I am on my period so having it for three months would kill me. But I guess each options has it good and bad points.
LOOL! OMG i was thinking of getting the depo shot too but after reading this, i think i’ll pass x_x. i cant deal with such issues, i’ll be too depressed to live.

ive had mine now since febuary 27th failed shot i am going insane i am 35 turning 36 and i would not recommend this shot to anyone!!!!

You still have to take hormones so i think its estrogen level is normal

this has happened to me too.I’ve had my period for 22 days. I know it sucks. its always heavy flow. you should consult a doctor.
