Confession: I am a makeup addict. I love it! It’s so much fun and is one of the easiest and most temporary ways to change up your look or glamorize yourself. There are literally millions of colors and brands to choose from, and it can get just a teensy bit overwhelming. So we want to know: what makeup are you using? Or are you even into this stuff?
Whether you love makeup or not, fill out this survey. It’s all about what’s in your makeup bag and what you’re putting on your face every day. Don’t use makeup? No biggie! Not every girl has to. Hmm…hard choice. Lately, I’ve been wearing lipstick more, but I always wear chapstick.

With my tan skin, a slightly red color works well. My lip glosses are shiny pinks with orange/red tints.

Aside from skin products like moisturizer, it’d be eyeliner.

For me, purples and plums, but lately I’ve really admired the silvery smoky eyes.

1. How often do you wear makeup?- It depends. If I’m at school, almost everyday, but if I’m just chillin’ at home on break, a couple of times out of the month.

1. How often do you wear makeup? I used to wear it every day, and would never go out without it, ever. The past couple years (I’m 26) I’ve really not worn it very often, though I love it. I sort of go through different stages.
2. When did you start using makeup? I played with it when I was little but didn’t wear it “for real”/out in public. I don’t remember when I was allowed to wear it exactly, I think I must’ve been around 12 or so.
3. Do you remember the first kind of makeup you ever used? Like I said I had “play makeup” when I was little, but as for real makeup, no, I don’t remember for sure.

5. Or do you find it more liberating to not use cosmetics? Yeah, I do find it really nice a lot of the time. I didn’t have my first boyfriend until I was 22 (not by choice, but partially because of my situation), and he preferred me without it; this gave me a lot of confidence in how I looked and even though we’re not together any longer is the reason I started feeling like I *could* go in public without makeup.
6. What’s your favorite brand of makeup ever? I don’t use a lot of popular brands because they do animal testing (including L’Oréal, Maybelline, CoverGirl, MAC’s owner Estée Lauder, Avon, etc.). So that limits my choices in many aspects. It’s hard to say I guess. Urban Decay is pretty great but not really in my price range. I really want to try a lot of Makeup Geek’s products. Rimmel is a pretty good one.
7. Where do you buy most of your cosmetics? Drugstore/discount store
8. How much is too much to spend on makeup? depends; occasionally I’ll splurge on something that seems worth it. I almost always research my purchases beforehand. Generally I’m very frugal.
9. About how much makeup do you own? I used to have more, but some of it got put with some of my things that an ex had that I didn’t get back for a few years (and so everything except the tools was ruined). Right now I’m pretty low on funds and have been slowly collecting a few things. Without going to look, I have one mascara (I don’t keep more than one at a time, as I don’t wear it *that* often and you aren’t supposed to keep it for very long), a few eyeshadows, a few lipglosses (maybe three or four), I think maybe one lipstick, a few brushes, a blush set that contains three, two foundations (one that I don’t use any more), a concealer set… that may be all.
10. Lipstick or lip gloss? I generally wear colored gloss.
11. What’s your favorite color lipstick and/or lip gloss to wear? Probably the “my lips but better” type.
12. If you could only use one makeup product for the rest of your life, what would it be? Hmm. Eyeshadow.
13. What’s your favorite eyeshadow color? Purple, definitely. I used to have around 20 different purple eyeshadows (before they got stuck with my ex, as I said before), I think probably more than I had of every other color combined.

15. Do you ever wear makeup to the gym or the beach? I haven’t been recently, but I doubt I would. Maybe if I had a big pimple or something I’d see if my concealer was waterproof… but I don’t think I’d worry too much.
16. When it comes to eyeliner, do you use a regular pencil or liquid eyeliner? Don’t usually wear it, partially because I can never get the line straight. I do sometimes use eyeshadow as a sort of liner. I don’t think I even own any eyeliner right now.

18. Have you ever wanted to be a makeup artist? Yes, I’ve seriously considered it. I think I’m pretty much set on sex education, but this is still something I might do as a hobby or something.
19. Do you use foundation, concealer or bronzer? Or all of them? I use foundation most, and concealer sometimes. I only even owned bronzer once, and it was years and years ago. The kind I got was way too dark for my very fair skin. I’ve never tried it since.

21. What’s one makeup trend you would love to try? I like the dark, vampy lips.
22. What’s one makeup trend you just don’t get? I’ve never really understood the “nude” lip thing. Once in a while it looks nice to me, but rarely. And it isn’t nude–nude your lips are pink, not the same shade as your skin.
