Truth: I love award shows. Watching celebs get all dressed up and win awards? Count me in. One thing that would make them even more awesome? If I could control who won.

So over here at Gurl, we decided to pretend that we can pick who wins what at Teen Choice™ 2012. Check out who would win these awards if Gurl.com had all the power:

Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy

Nominees: The Avengers, The Hunger Games, Mirror Mirror, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Wrath of The Titans
Gurl’s Winner: The Hunger Games, hands down. Sure, all of these movies were amazing, but seriously – none of them kicked as much butt as THG did. Or caused as much fandemonium.

Choice TV Show: Drama

Nominees: Bones, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, Revenge, Touch
Gurl’s Winner: Pretty Little Liars, for sure. That show had me biting my nails throughout the entire second season, and I’m counting down the days until it starts up again. It’s exciting and includes awesome fashion. Win!

Choice TV Show: Comedy

Nominees: 2 Broke Girls, The Big Bang Theory, Glee, Modern Family, New Girl
Gurl’s Winner: Ah, this one is SO hard! Okay, if I really had it my way, I’d pick Modern Family and New Girl. But since there can only be one… I’d have to say New Girl. Zooey Deschanel’s new show was one of the best and funniest things to happen to TV this year – it deserves some major props!

Choice TV Show: Reality Competition Show

Nominees: American Idol, America’s Next Top Model, Survivor: One World, The Voice, The X Factor
Gurl’s Winner: I’m going to have to go with American Idol on this one. Between the awesome judges and the amazing talent that graced the stage, it blew us away this year. Plus, I’ll never get tired of singing competitions.

Choice Male Artist

Nominees: Justin Bieber, Drake, Bruno Mars, Pitbull, Blake Shelton
Gurl’s Winner: Okay, I know some people disagree with this, but the Biebs should (and probably will) win. His new single “Boyfriend” showed off a much older side of him, and it was totally catchy. As much as you want to dislike him, you just can’t!

Choice Female Artist

Nominees: Adele, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Taylor Swift
Gurl’s Winner: All of these ladies are so incredible – how could anyone pick a winner for this?! In the end, I’ll have to go with Katy Perry. Girlfriend got divorced this year and handled it without any huge public drama. Plus, she’s released two new empowering songs no one can stop listening to. She’s awesome!

Choice Music Group

Nominees: Selena Gomez & The Scene, Gym Class Heroes, Lady Antebellum, LMFAO, The Wanted
Gurl’s Winner: Selena Gomez & The Scene. Just like her boyfriend, Selena’s music totally grew up this year, and it sounded great. Even through her super, mega-stardom, Selena has managed to stay grounded. She’s a total inspiration.

Choice Rock Song

Nominees: “Lonely Boy” by The Black Keys, “Paradise” by Coldplay, “Pumped Up Kicks” by Foster The People, “We Are Young” by fun featuring Janelle Monae, “Somebody That I Used To Know” by Gotye featuring Kimbra
Gurl’s Winner: I’m going to have to go with “Somebody That I Used To Know”. That song is impossible not to sing along to, and it’s such a great breakup song. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it.

Choice Single By A Female Artist

Nominees: “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele, “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson, “Dance Again” by Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull, “Part of Me” by Katy Perry, “Eyes Open” by Taylor Swift
Gurl’s Winner: It’s a super close call, but I’d have to give this one to Adele. Her voice is over-the-top incredible and this song never gets old. We just love Adele overall here!

Choice Fashion Icon: Female

Nominees: Miley Cyrus, Zooey Deschanel, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry
Gurl’s Winner: I love the fashion sense of all these ladies, but I’d give this one to Miley. Her fashion choices have been criticized endlessly, but I still don’t get why. Miley always looks great and isn’t afraid to take risks without going too crazy, no matter what people say about her.

Choice Female Hottie

Nominees: Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Kate Upton
Gurl’s Winner: Rihanna. Yes, some of her choices this year have been questionable (making song with Chris Brown, for one), but no one can deny this girl is on fire. She’s not afraid to be herself, and that’s what we love about her the most.

Choice Male Hottie

Nominees: Justin Bieber, Ryan Gosling, Liam Hemsworth, Robert Pattinson, Ian Somerhalder
Gurl’s Winner: I don’t know how it’s possible to pick one hottie out of this group, but I’d have to go with Ryan Gosling. His movies are amazing and everything he does is a hit. And, I mean, the dude’s like a real-life superhero – breaking up fights and saving girls from getting hit by cars? Come on now.

Nominees: The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, The Giver by Lois Lowry, The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, Divergent trilogy by Veronica Ruth, The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks
Gurl’s Winner: The Hunger Games, once again. These books were ridiculously popular this year, and for good reason. They’ve got everything: excitement, a love story, death, archery… what more could you want?!

Choice Comedian

Nominees: Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Fallon, Andy Samberg, Daniel Tosh, Kristen Wiig
Gurl’s Winner: All of these nominees are hysterical, but I’d give this one to Kristen Wiig. I still can’t stop laughing at Bridesmaids, and I also still haven’t gotten over the fact that she’s leaving Saturday Night Live. There’s never a time she doesn’t make people laugh.

Gurl’s Winner: Demi Lovato. From tweeting her personal thoughts to ranting over the Disney Channel’s unfortunate eating disorder jokes, Demi probes to be a total role model for girls everywhere. Her Twitter is just as honest and open as she is.

But these aren’t the real winners – you’ll have to tune into the show to see that!
