The Morning After
Is this really what gURL has come to? Calling girls “bitches” and perpetuating stereotypes of teenage girls as catty? When I first found gURL in 2006, it was a great site reminiscent of “New Moon Magazine” and other media that let girls be girls outside the sexist framework established by women’s magazines– a resource for learning about sexuality but not learning how to be an object. I envisioned directing my niece to it when she was older.
I don’t think I’ll ever link her to this site now.
