22 Of The Strangest Foods Served At McDonald’s Around The World!

McDonald’s, whether you love it or hate, it’s a staple of American culture. Since its founding in 1940 the McFastfood chain has spread to 119 different countries all over the globe.

Whenever I’ve traveled to different countries I was always sure to check out the local McDonald’s to see if the menu items tasted different–and they totally always do! Not only does Mickey D’s taste different (usually MUCH better) they usually have special selections that reflect the culture of that nation.

Some McDonald’s have been known to serve grilled cheese, falafel, spaghetti, and some even serve beer.

Here’s our list of 22 (foreign?) foods we wish Mickey D’s would serve up here!

McRice Burger Singapore

Buns made of rice instead of bread.

Spam and Eggs Hawaii

Spam, eggs, and rice—a traditional breakfast for Hawaiians and some Pacific Islanders.

Rosti Brekki Wrap Australia

Described as, “a rasher of bacon, a freshly cracked egg, a slice of cheese, and a golden potato rosti … topped off with BBQ sauce, on a flour tortilla.”

McCurry Pan India

This is totally weird. A square bread bowl, filled with chicken curry and peppers.

Breakfast Flat Germany

I don’t speak German, but I think this is a flat bread with diced ham and cheese.

Veg McMuffin India

Tofu instead of meat.

Rye Vegetarian Feast Finland

A veggie burger on rye bread.

Croquet McDo France

Two slices of ham and cheese on flattened hamburger buns.

Frukostmackan med Kalkon With Turkey and Cream Cheese Sweden

Umm, I think it’s an artisan turkey and cream cheese sandwich?

Grilled Chicken Fold Over South Africa

Two chicken patties on a pita.

Shrimp Fireo Japan

Also known as the “McShrimp Burger.” An entire patty of deep fried shrimp on a bun.

Pollo McCrispy Guatemala

Fried chicken at Mickey D’s!

McMolletes Mexico

Refried beans, cheese, and pico de gallo on an English muffin.

Empanadas Chile

Empanadas at Mickey D’s!

McKebab Israel

A kosher kebab on a pita.

A Happy Meal In Bulgaria

A much healthier meal: chicken, salad, and water.

Big Breakfast Roll Russia

I don’t speak Russian, but it looks to us like: eggs, sausage, cheese, bacon, and maybe a hash brown on a wrap.

NYCrispy Italy

Check out the hand cut fries! The NYCrispy is supposed to have something to do with New York City, but mostly just has bacon, cried onions, and dill pickle flavored cheese.

Patatas Deluxe Spain

Thick cut fries!

McShrimp Switzerland

Fried shrimp.

Magyaros Hungary

Pepperoni and Swiss on a chicken patty.

Nacho Jr. Finland

Yes, a burger with nacho chips and salsa!

The turkey w/ cream cheese thing sounds delicious, but super similar to this sandwich at my friend’s restaurant, which has turkey, cranberry cream cheese, sprouts, lettuce, and tomato on a baguette. It rocks ^o^
