Turns out, we may be biologically hardwired to show off our goods, because the reaction makes us feel pretty good. But that doesn’t mean sending nude pictures isn’t extremely damaging to your reputation, self esteem, and relationships.
A new study says that being wanted can actually turn girls on, because it makes us feel better about ourselves–and feeling good about ourselves actually turns us on more than our partners do. And here’s the thing–of course it’s awesome to be confident and to love yourself. But there are so many other ways to build up your self confidence without worry about the repercussions of nude pictures!
With so many celebs sending and leaking their own nude pictures all the time, it may look easy to wave off as no biggie, but it is.
First off, celebs have publicists and lawyers that get paid a ton of cash to make their nude photo scandals go away–most of us aren’t lucky enough to have those kinds of resources. Second, celebs generally don’t have college interviews, varsity eligibility, or prom to worry about. And third, it absolutely still affects a lot of their careers–Vanessa Hudgens may be a household name, but her box office rankings are pretty awful, and her tarnished rep may be partly to blame.

Obviously, most of us aren’t trying to star in blockbuster movies–but the consequences of a normal person’s nude pictures leaking are even more dire than a High School Musical star’s. When you hit “send,” you lose all control over whatever images you send out into the ether. Even if the guy or girl you send them to is trustworthy, what happens if you piss them off one day? Who’s going to see them? Your parents? Your frenemy? Your principal? It’s just too risky. Aside from the embarrassment of your nude pictures going to people who you never wanted to see them, there’s also a chance you could face legal drama from them. A lot of teens have actually faced child porn charges for taking, sending, and distributing nude pictures of themselves and people they know–and that’s really something you don’t want on your record!
If you want to be wanted, that’s normal. You’re human! But make sure you’re wanted for the right reasons–your awesome sense of humor, your great listening skills, how well you play drums–and not for the blackmail-worthy nude pictures you’re sending to a guy’s phone.

I’m doing a research project on if nude photography can help build self esteem and confidence etc, I’d love to hear some of your opinions on it, to the girls that like taking naked photos, does it build your confidence/self esteem? If so, how?
I was talking to this guy i liked for a month or two, then he told me he loved me, i said i loved him back but I wasn’t too sure. I went away with my girlfriends the next weekend to find out my closest friend kissed him the week before, he told me it wasnt a real kiss so i forgave him, they I found out that he had sent my all time best friend a nude picture of himself and recieved one back, ALL IN THE SAME WEEK. he wants to talk with me but i know if we do I will go crazy at him. What should i do?
I am actually about to take some pics for my fiancee. I don’t care he thinks my body is beautiful and I would rather he be looking at me than someone else. I keep it between me and him and he does the same so its perfectly fine but no other man is seeing it and thats final. This is for his eyes alone.

You NEVER know where those pictures will end up. Even IF your guy is a stand up kind of man, that doesn’t mean they can’t get around. And if he doesn’t know how to hide them on his phone, anyone that touches his phone (his friends, brother, and (YIKES!) mom) could see them too. Can you imagine the embarrassment you might suffer if his mom got hold of them?
I had a guy friend who used to send people pictures of himself wearing nothing but a sock over his junk.

Just recently I sent a semi nude picture to my boyfriend and than the next monday at school my guy friend came up to me and showed me a picture and asked if it was me (the curly hair, big boobs, and tiny waist that I get a lot of attention for kind of gave it away) I confronted my boyfriend about it onlly to discover his jerk off friend stole it from his phone and sent it to himself and two other guys.. luckly I was good friends with the two other guys he sent it to and I had them delete and I broke up with my boyfriend and talk to my favorite teacher about it and he told me it will all pass.. hopefully it will:(

I have no problems with nudity, even my own. I’ve not only sent nude pictures to my boyfriend who has shown them to some of his friends I’ve also sent them to random strangers on the internet as well as posted them on my tumblr. I don’t care who sees them. Society makes to much of a big deal over nudity. I’ve even seen nudes of my older sister I don’t think she knows but I don’t care its not a big deal to me.

Thats how I felt about my nudes getting around! I was like well at least my boobs look good! and a bunch of girls called me a slut and stupid but I can just tell they are jealous they dont get asked for them as often as I do lol! I agree with you completely
