What Is Jizz Anyway?

When it comes to talking about sex, a lot of us use a lot of words that you wouldn’t exactly find in the Oxford English dictionary. Take the word “jizz,” for example. This one comes up so much that a few years ago, the Lonely Island (the Andy Samberg spoof group), even released a song called, “Jizz in My Pants.” Sung in the voice of a guy plagued by premature ejaculation, it included lines like, “I jizz right in my pants every time you’re next to me.” Classy!

But what is jizz and why does it end up in this guy’s pants? Basically, it is just a slang term for the fluid that is released when a guy ejaculates.

Ejaculating, or having an orgasm, happens when a guy’s penis has been stimulated to the point where liquid squirts from his body. Technically, this substance is known as semen, or ejaculate, though a lot of people also call it cum (and as legions of high school guys and dumb comedies regularly remind us, “jizz”).

Now for the details: semen (or jizz) is made up of sperm from the testicles that mix with fluid from internal reproductive organs, like the prostate and the ejaculatory duct. When it leaves the body, semen can be whitish or yellowish, may have a mild odor, and is often sticky or clumpy. Though it might seem like a lot comes out when a guy ejaculates, only about a tablespoon of liquid actually leaves his body. But it can do so fast – almost 60 miles an hour in some cases!

Whatever you call it, it is important to realize that since semen (or jizz, or cum, or ejaculate) contains sperm, if it gets into a girl’s vagina, it can cause pregnancy. Semen can also pass sexually transmitted infections, so it is important to use a condom not only for vaginal sex, but for oral and anal sex, as well.

Ejaculating is perfectly normal. So is making up slang words to describe it. Did you ever have to ask, “What is jizz?” How do you feel about the word jizz? Do you think it sounds funny? Sexy? Gross? Let us know in the comments!

So, Now . . . What The Hell Is Up With Blue Balls?

    hi 2all

  • Somebody that you used to know

I don’t know how some of you think these articles are filthy. It’s clearly telling people who don’t know what’s going on. I’d rather read this article than be vulnerable.
I think these articles are brilliant and would definitely recommend it to teenagers in need of knowledge.

The articles on this site are all filthy. However, i guess a girl has to learn somewhere but this site makes me uneasy. What ages is this site for? Rosie, sperm is also known as ejaculate. It is called many words, which this article is stating. Aimy, you can get veneral disease from giving blow jobs. Throat VD is on the rise in this country. Girls, dont rush into any kind of sex. You have your whole life ahead of you. If the boys/men really like you they will respect you and wait. Whatever happened to saving “it” (your virginity) for your wedding night?

    • Danielle

The reccomended ages are 16 and up.

      • Brie

    • Janie

If you think these articles are “filthy” then why do you read them? You don’t have to, simple as that. Isn’t it better that a girl knows what this is rather than be naive?

Not to be rude or anything. But I’ve notice alot of inconsistency’s with the articles on this website. Is there a new writer? or a bunch of different writers writing different things? A lot of these post have inadequate information. For example sperm is not called “ejaculate” the other name for it is ejaculative fluids. I’ve been coming to this website since i was 10 years old in 5th grade. I loved it! It thought me alot. I’m now 22 . But since the whole remodeling(which i hate) I feel like the website has lot alot of creditability and originality. By the way what the heck happen to Martina? and all of her cool fun articles about sex? I miss her! I want the old gurl.com back!

    • Nobody

Sperm itself is not ejaculate or ejaculative fluid the semen in which the sperm resides in is. Ejaculate is both a noun and a verb, ejaculate (verb) is when ejaculate (noun) comes out during orgasm.

  • Bea

I once had to explain what cum and blowjobs were to my 15 year old sister. When I was 11.

    • Brie

lmao!!! wait was/is she mentally ill? If so thats not so bad

    • Blustr

  • Well, Andy is My Husband

AH The misspelling of Andy’s last name! *Gasp*

    **Samberg

    • Daniel

      Thats how they spelled it

  • Aimy

UHH how are you supose to give a blowjob with a condom on ?

    • LocalOreo

That’s the same question I asked when I read that!

      • Heather

You can give a blow-job with a condom on. Haven’t you ever heard of flavored condoms? That’s one of the main reasons of making them flavored.
