I think I’ve told you about my former hatred of my smallish boobs. I used to think an underwire was a sign of success in the tits department, but mercifully, my girls don’t really need one and I can get by on softie little bralettes. But some celebs choose to not wear a bra at all, no matter the size of their chest.
Case in point: Miley Cyrus. I spied her strutting around Disneyland sans bra, and the press jumped all over her. I wondered if they would care so much if Liam Hemsworth (her BF) was spotted at the mall without boxer briefs on under his jeans. Probably not! But for some reason, boobs seem to be everyone’s business so let’s discuss the pros and cons of not wearing a bra before you ditch Vicky’s Secret altogether!
Pro: No unsightly straps!
It’s so tacky to see a girl in a racerback with bra straps on full display. But then again, not wearing one at all can lead to…
Con: Unsightly Nipples
Some girls don’t care that their highbeams are on, but others are absolutely mortified. If you fall into the latter category, remember that it doesn’t always take an arctic breeze to get the girls at attention…and sometimes, they don’t always firm up together! Just ask Rihanna.
Pro: Saves money!
Why in the H are bras so expensive? Can tell me? I found one I liked at VS and it was $60??!?! Just another example of how guys get off easy in the wardrobe department.
Con: Sagging?
There doesn’t seem to be any hard evidence about the coorelation between going braless and saggy boobs, but it kinda makes sense. Breast tissue isn’t all that sturdy, so your C or D cups flouncing around all the time could take it’s toll over time. Lindsay Lohan never seems to wear a bra and her boobs aren’t exactly perky. Coincidence?
Pro: Comfort!
The best part of my day is when I get home from a party and take off my push-up bra. Sweet freedom! However, free-boobin’ it isn’t all sunshine and smiles…
Con: Serious Discomfort
God forbid you have to run or bound up steps or basically do anything besides walk slowly and sit. I don’t know how Britney Spears spent basically all of 2007 without a bra. Ouchhhh.

I wear 28F(/G) and today was the first day I’ve gone bra-less… And it felt amazing, like, wow, freedom
Awesome! But I won’t be doing it much, I think the guys might have noticed it and my bf wouldn’t like them staring too much at me….
I am a 22 year old female who HATES wearing a bra. Espesially if its a bad fit and has underwire. Im a small size though (36B) and i feel i need the “support” of a cup -defining, padded bra. I dont think that its appropreiate for my nippes to show in public.
I’m a 30A cup & I rarely wear a bra I only wear one if I’m
going somewhere formal
Ligaments and connective do not atrophy like that. Since women started going braless, the highest rise in breast cancer rose and at current rate. Think of it, all that tissue causing friction in each breast, somethings got to give without any support, hence irregular growth (cancer). Also testicular cancer is the same way. Add support to what needs supporting, It’s hell to mature!
As I understand it, bras may actually CAUSE sagging because when your breasts are supported all the time, the ligaments and connective tissue that otherwise hold up breast tissue begin to atrophy. The pain some women feel without a bra is those weakened ligaments stretching and becoming sore. Kind of how if you run a lot and suddenly stop for several weeks or months, your legs will become sore when you start up again. Soreness in the breasts goes away after going braless for awhile. The ligaments gain strength and will actually give you a little bit of lift! Larger busted women who suffer from back and shoulder pain because of their breasts also feel relief after going braless because the weight is no longer resting on their shoulders.
Just an aside, going braless is also much healthier. Bras compress the breasts and constrict lymph flow. A few studies have found correlations between bra wearing and higher cancer rates! Cultures or tribes in which women do not wear bras have almost no breast cancer. Tribes once nearly cancer free who switched over to a more “developed” culture and began wearing bras now have the same rates of cancer as the rest of the world. I don’t know if there are other factors that might account for those statistics as well, but it’s certainly something to think about.
Throw the bra. Walk braless. I have 40 D and I love going without the bra, even topless.
High five! I’m a DD and I hate wearing a bra. And I totally support women’s right to be topless.
I have a 36 A bust size. I never liked wearing bra, and so i don;t wear one. I love wearing tight tshirts and i’m not bothered even if my nipples poops out. I’m happy and I love my breast. When i’m out for swimming i love wearing the latest no coverage bikini. It doesn;t cover either my breast or my pubic as well. When I’m at the beach with my boyfriend I love the way people look at my breast thru the no coverage bikini.. I love it
Im WAYYY too big to go braless
I ALWAYS wear a bra! if i dont my ( lets just call it stubbles) will show through my shirt and boys would stare! AWKWARD… Also if I am jogging or running, my girls will hurt.
i wear bras at school and stuff, and i live nearer 2 the eqator, so in the summer i usually sleep w/ an undershirt, tanktop, or bra. but it does hurt if ur not wearing a bra… ouch.
The only time I don’t wear a bra is sometimes at home over winter and at night. I am a AA cup though so yeah it doesn’t really matter. I think I will try not wearing a bra when I go out this winter if I am wearing a jumper and stuff.
Eh…maybe if I’m going to a strip club after i turn 18 in two years going braless might not be a bad idea especially if I’m just gonna end up in a back room somewhere…anyway wearing a bra for me is a big issue though because I hate my small 34 A cup boobs…they are too small for my liking, but I don’t wanna get breast surgery cause eventually when I have kids I wanna breast feed. I’m not even really a 34 cup they need to have a size 33 and stop going by twos. So I wear padded bras that push up sometimes and padded bras that just overall make my boobs look bigger than what they are. However when I got to bed I usually sleep braless unless I’m going to my friends house cause she has a 12 almost 13 year old brother…so yeah me is a maybe
i wish i had smaller boobs! bras are way too expensive if i want the perfect fit. they never seem to last for long either and they dig into my shoulders like crazy. maybe one day i’ll be able to get a breast reduction. unfortunately my b/f’s pretty attached to these puppies even though i wish i wasn’t.
I always wear a bra or at least a undershirt
I can’t go braless. My boobs are not the right shape. Very flat (not as in flat-chested, but droopy-flat) and small. It looks awful. I don’t find bras to be that uncomfortable anyway.
My boobs are rather small, at 32B, but I don’t like going bra-less. I do it only for ballet, because my leotards have built-in lining which make it comfortable even without a bra underneath.
I rarely wear a bra too, I’m 19 and about a 34B.
I would never go braless. Nope, never. I’m 13 and I already have C cup boobs. I can’t afford to go au natural!
if u have heavy weigh boobz oviously you should wear bra.bcoz wdout this u will certainly feel uncomfortable in walking and specially to come front of otherz..
I rarely wear a bra.
No going braless for me! My girls are too big for all that. If you have a smaller chest, depending on the shirt, i think going braless is fine, but if you got more up top and need support, like myself, bras are the way to go.
