Like the rest of the world, we were so excited when Jessica Simpson joined the ranks of famous mothers and gave birth to a baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson\. While we loved Jess preggers (seriously, how adorable and glowy was she the entire time?!), we’re happy to get the chance to see her sure-to-be-beautiful baby girl. If she’s anything like her mama, lil’ Max is going to have killer pipes, super savvy business sense, and some truly fierce fashion sense.
Jessica Simpson is only the latest ’90s starlet to pop out or expect a cutie patootie. Here are a bunch of other famous mothers who first made it big in the ’90s on some of our favorite TV shows, in movies, and over the radio!
We can imagine the ABCs she’ll teach her tots: “A is for apple pie, B is for band camp…”
Sarah Michelle Gellar
She and Freddie Prinze, Jr. were pretty much the prom king and queen of the entire decade, and now they have a lil’ prince or princess on the way! Can you imagine all the kick-butt lessons you could get if your mom was Buffy?
Despite the tragic loss of her daughter’s father, Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams has gone on to be one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation. And how cute is her pixie cut?!
Before Tom and Suri, there were Dawson and Pacey. She’s come a mighty long way from the creek!
Though she had a pretty dark phase, Britney Spears has always made it a point to be a hands-on mom to her two adorable little boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James–even filming them dancing to share with her fans. Too. CUTE!
Post-”Dirrty” phase but pre-The Voice, Xtina welcomed adorable son Max Bratman into the world. We’re pretty jealous of all the beautiful lullabies he must get.
Melissa Joan Hart
Clarissa Explains It All… About parenting, that is. The former teenage witch and current mom of two boys confirmed last month that she’s expecting her third child!
She was just a girl. Now she has two badass boys, Kingston and Zuma, to keep her company.
Tia & Tamera Mowry
These Sister, Sister stars are also moms and aunties now! Tia’s son was born last June, while Tamera has a tyke due this November. We wonder if they’ll look alike!
Do you think she’ll sing “Stop” to her kids when they’re learning to cross the street?
She oughta know not to let her baby boy, Ever, listen to her debut album until he’s a bit older. Well, maybe except for “You Learn.”
She overcame addiction, wrote a book, and dealt with Bob Saget for years. We think she’ll have a lot of life experience and patience as a mom, but we just hope her kids have good manners–she’s probably really sick of saying, “How rude!”
We don’t think she’ll let her diversely beautiful brood watch the two ’90s films that shot her into superstardom, Gia and Girl, Interrupted, until they grow up. But when they do, they’ll understand why she’s so critically acclaimed!
Don’t be fooled by the rocks that she got. We bet Jenny still plays with blocks… At least when she’s with her three-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
After Blossom, Mayim got a PhD in neuroscience and became the celebrity spokesperson for the Holistic Moms Network. Who wants to bet her two sons are going to grow up to be geniuses?
Queen Bey now has an heir with Blue Ivy, the most famous baby girl since Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. She recently admitted to wearing heels and lip gloss in the delivery room, possibly making her the most glam mom ever–but we knew she would be, even back in her ’90s Destiny’s Child days!
Who’s your favorite ’90s star? Do You like the name Jessica Simpson picked for her daughter? Who’s your favorite famous mother? Did we miss someone you love? Tell us in the comments!
