Basically Sabi is the invisible vocalist of the moment who is about to appear. Yeah, she’s “that girl” on the Cobra Starship single “You Make Me Feel. . .”, is featured on Brit-Brit’s (Miss Spears) Femme Fatale fave “(Drop Dead) Gorgeous” and now Sabi has just dropped another single with Wale called “Where They Do That At”. The major up-and-comer is signed to Warner Bros. Records and is expected to release her debut album this year. If it’s as good as any of her track features we’re sure it will be majorly fierce, R&B and pop a la Aaliyah, Beyonce, and Ciara.

 

1. What’s your worst date story?
I was in college, I didn’t have a boyfriend at the time, so one of my girlfriends set me up with some random dude. And he was really cool until we went to the dance floor. I like to dance but he just thought it was okay to grab me and touch me. He just got out of line and that was a wrap. I stopped dancing but he was just standing, trying to be hard and play it off. . . he got moody and said, “I was going to leave, anyways.” That was the worst.

2. If you could only have one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Ooh, that’s hard. Question is would I gain weight? Haha. I guess I would have to say Sushi.

3. Whose phone number do you wish you had?
I would want someone on my team who I could call for advice in the game…Drake. I feel like he could help me with lyrics and tell me how the game works. I think I would learn a lot.

4. What’s something you’ve always wanted but you’ve never gotten?
There’s nothing that I’ve always wanted that I never got. Because if I wanted it, I either got it or I was about to get it.

5. What’s your secret nickname?
My middle name is Sab-bion. My little sister’s nickname for me is Savian. I only respond to her when she calls me that.

6. What’s the guiltiest pleasure on your iPod?
“Rack City” by Tyga. That is such a ratchet song!

7. Best advice you ever got?
It sounds cliché but my aunt told me that nothing is too far or too big to reach.

8. Favorite bargain purchase?
It’s this denim jacket that I got at a thrift store in LA. It’s oversized and I bleached it and it’s totally cool. I wear it everywhere.

9. Instant pick me up?
Manicure. Whenever I feel like crap, I go get a pedicure/manicure, and then I feel okay.

10. Describe the high school you in 3 words.
Loner, shy, and–I wasn’t part of the popular crowd–so, different.
