I’m always in the market for a new celebrity crush (one can only obsessively Google Zac Efron so many times, you know) and I think I’ve found a winner in The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson. But it’s not just Josh’s super sexy eyes or uh-dorable smile (although neither of those things hurt). Josh is also a seriously stand-up guy who’s taught me a thing or two about living life the right way. Let’s look at a few of his finer points, shall we?

1. Keep Your Family Close
Growing up, Josh’s mom worked for Delta Airlines, but once her son struck it big, he could afford to have her quit the 9 to 5. Now, Mama Hutcherson helps out her son with his career–and the two get some quality bonding time in, to boot! It’s great to see a guy who not only adores his mama, but wants her around all the time. Hmm although, that could put a damper on Josh’s and my soon-to-be dating life…
 

2. Treat Your Exes With Respect
Confession: I’m not always the most mature person when it comes to break ups. But I should take a lesson from Josh, who fell for his Journey 2 costar Vanessa Hudgens. The pair flamed out–just as they were starting to do press for the movie (Awwwwkwarrrrd!) but when one clueless reporter asked the exes how their romance was going, Josh simply explained that he and Baby V were no longer an item, but just really good friends. Would your exes be so gracious under pressure…and a room full of cameras? Maybe not, but we all should be!

3. Adopt a Pet!
Our favorite District 12 tribute (Okay, maybe it’s a toss-up–we heart Katniss, too!) may be ferocious in the arena but he’s a huge softie in real life! He just rescued a Pit Bull named Driver from the Hands Paw Hearts foundation in Lancaster,CA. Big biceps and a big heart? I die!

4. Don’t Doubt Yourself
There aren’t many things that make a dude feel more insecure than being around someone who’s taller. It’d be easy for Josh to feel squirmy around his towering Hunger Games costar Liam Hemsworth, but even though he’s only 5’7″, Josh always looks confident and cool. And doesn’t a great attitude add at least three inches?

5. Fight for Equality
Last but certainly not least! Josh recently recieved GLAAD’s Vanguard award thanks to his work with the Straight But Not Narrow campaign that encourages people to stand up for their gay peers. Josh is passionate about the cause since his two gay uncles both died of AIDS when he was young. So tragic–and mega inspiring!
