JLo needed to avoid a nip slip

Jennifer Lopez was the talk of the 2012 Oscars (more on the actual awards here!) when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction onstage.

Clad in a stunning Zuhair Murad gown that was cut down to there, all eyes were on J.Lo — and apparently her areola when she seemed to have a nip slip on stage! In an ironic twist, it happened when Jen and Cameron Diaz were presenting the Academy Award for Best Costume Designs and Make-Up. Perhaps if the winner had helped her get dressed, she wouldn’t have had that problem! How can you avoid your own nip slip?

*Dude… Wear a bra! Obviously a normal bra wouldn’t have worked with J. Lo’s gown, but there are so many varieties of cuts available that they could potentially render nip slips into oblivion.

*Pasties are a girl’s breast friend. When a bra isn’t an option for your ensemble, pasties can keep the world from knowing that you’re freezing.

*Consider your body type before splurging on a low-cut ensemble. If you’re a C cup or above, this is a very tough look to pull off without a nip slip (or the pain from all that bouncing).

*Get your gowns tailored. If something fits absolutely perfectly, there’s much less a chance of the twins coming out to play. If something is too tight, you’ll be busting out. If it’s too loose, you’ll have to deal with that scary slide of fabric that poor J to-the-L-O did this weekend.

*Invest in doublestick tape. Consider J. Lo is usually dripping in diamonds, it’s pretty astounding she didn’t spring for some fashion tape–a girl’s best weapon against the dreaded nip slip. You can grab it at most dress shops or lingerie stores. Don’t have time? Just roll up plain old Scotch tape (just make sure you flatten it so it’s not poking out — which would defeat the purpose).
