From The Message Boards: How Do You Feel About Breast Implants?

Breast Implants

Do you have this at home?

No matter how you feel about it, one thing’s for sure: plastic surgery has gotten super popular over the years. One of the surgeries being performed the most? Not surprisingly, it’s breast implants – the amount performed has increased over 40 percent in the last decade. We’re not just talking about celebs and reality stars getting their boobs done… “regular” girls like you and me get them done all the time.

A lot of people have different ideas about boob jobs, which we saw when we read this post in the message boards. So we want to know: how do you feel about fake breasts? Read what these girls had to say and then tell us your opinion.

Real or fake: Which do you like better and why? Why are people so judgmental and negative about breast surgeries?

o0kArLa0o replied, saying:
If you’re doing it for yourself to feel better then I’m all for it. I don’t see anything wrong with getting your breasts done at all. As a matter of fact, I don’t think getting any kind of plastic surgery to correct something on your own body to feel better is wrong. As long as it’s not something so drastic that your overall appearance changes and you look like a totally different person. That is just taking it too far. My friend got the bump on her nose corrected with surgery and it came out great once it healed. It gave her a whole lot of confidence and she seemed to be much more outgoing.

Who says you need big boobs to be gorgeous?

PrettyandUnpretty replied, saying:
I prefer real because I think it is important to appreciate our bodies for what they naturally are. I don’t understand why people get plastic surgery instead of embracing who they are on the outside and being happy with it. I personally do not plan on getting anything done for cosmetic reasons and it has to be a medical reason for me to be able to get any kind of surgery.

And what do we have to say about boob jobs? Here’s the thing: plastic surgery is a huge deal. Just because it’s really common doesn’t mean it’s any less serious. Even though making your boobs bigger doesn’t seem like it’s something you need to worry about, it’s still a surgery, and there are still a ton of risks involved. Plus, getting any kind of plastic surgery done means you’ll be changing your body forever. That’s a pretty intense thing to think about.

We’re not saying we’re against it exactly, but we have to kind of agree with PrettyandUnpretty – it’s super important to love yourself for who you are, and to accept your body for what it is. It might sound corny, but everyone was built differently and we think a girl’s natural body is beautiful! Why change something that you might feel like is an imperfection when that’s part of what makes you unique?

Who do you agree with? Would you ever get a boob job? Have you ever gotten one? Tell us in the comments.

My sister has them and im also considering it. i think it is perfectly fine; yes we should be comfortable with whoever we are, but some girls, like myself, feel very boyish because of how small their breasts are.

ok first of all if you are going to get implants you should know they can burst and curse breast cancer. and i personally want to remore my boobs they’re ok but all my friends have nothing and make me feel like an outsider.

my opinion? it’s your choice. I have very small breasts then again i’m a very tiny girl i’ve always been petite and i love it but of course like a lot of other girls you eventually want to be seen as sexy in a guys eyes right? I have debated this topic with myself for the longest time! i would love to know what it’s like to carry around some nice C’s and see what it’s like to get that attention then again i love how my breasts are so tiny they’re adorable and perky just like my personality. but i’m still debating with myself i’m not exactly very comfortable in my body i hate my nose, i have crooked teeth, and my skin breaks out way too easily it’s a tough topic especially when society tells you what’s seemingly “perfect” and not perfect.you tell me. should i or shouldn’t i??

I agree with @prettyandunpretty because my friend has large boobs naturally and they are a pain for her to manage, like kaye said. But, for not looks reasons but practicality reasons, I am okay with plastic surgery, just not breast implants. I wear glasses and they never fit right because of the uneven surface on my nose, so when I get a bit older I will even it out, but still keep the nose shape. My friends brother has trouble breathing because his nose is kind of twisted, so he’s getting plastic surgery to fix that, which is totally fine by me. If it’s pretty necessary, then yeah, I am fine with plastic surgery. I just don’t like breast implants.

on breast implants: as a fellow gurl who has naturally big boobs, i would advise against it. i have a small stomach and huge boobs. as a result i have to get clothes that like tent off of me, or squish my chest to suffocation. it’s impossible to ever really look wholesome because whether my top is low-cut or a turtleneck, they stick out like a sore thumb. now i used to wear hollister and abercrombie and all that stuff and it was a huge pain when i did because i could never wear clothes true to size BECAUSE of how large they were. the moral of the story is: big boobs are a pain. i mean i’m glad i have boobs and all, i know i could be off a lot worse (ie. breast cancer) but it gets really, really old when you can’t wear the clothes you want, when you get stared at by guys and girls alike, when you have that much more surface area that gets painful before periods, etc. do what you want but you might not like having them. idk.

I agree with @prettyandunpretty I really don’t care what people think about my breasts, why were they even looking at them anyways? I mean, If one of my friends got it done I wouldn’t unfriend them! I would still love them like a sister no matter what.
