Yay! You are totally crushed-out, into this person, and you just can’t stop smiling. And why should you? He’s got it going on and so do you.
If your lips ever touch his? Swoon. This is major. But sex? Maybe you’re not ready for that, yet. Or even if you are, it’s important to keep growing your relationship by doing stuff outside the bedroom, too.
And believe me, there are plenty of things to do with your honey that aren’t horizontal. Here are 10 of my all-time faves:
1. Keep calm and tumblr on.
Have you considered starting a magazine, blog or podcast together? My sister and her dude started a popular political zine. Yours can be about anything you like sharing from martial arts to punk fashion.
2. Get your gaming on.
Instead of spending solo hours in the dark playing against anonymous forces combine your gamer super powers. Try an obscure game. Maybe you can be a dynamic duo against another couple.
3. Get sporty with spice.
Whether you get your sports fix from watching basketball or double dutch, you can more than be just a spectator. Hit a park with your guy and get your own soccer one-on-one going. If you’re athletically challenged try pool, darts, bowling or golf. Come on, girl. Get in the game!
4. Get thee to the museum.
Yeah, I saw you roll your eyes. Did you know that there’s a Superhero Museum in Elkhart, Indiana? There’s also a Skyscraper Museum in NYC. Chances are that wherever you live there’s a fun and cool museum or library you never knew existed.
5. Travel without luggage.
You can visit different countries with your bus pass right in your own city. Say this month it’s all about Italy, Mexico or China. Find the neighborhood in your community and learn the culture. Try the food, experiment with the language and enjoy. Ciao!
6. Convention time.
The local Bike Expo, Auto Show, Comicon, Salsa Conference or Web Experience sometimes have student rates, and you can geek out about all the stuff you both love with the pros!
Are you a DIY kind of chick? Well DIY isn’t just for girls. There are all kinds of cool things you could make together from comic books to that weird lamp he wants to gift his mom. Maybe you’ve helped your dad fix motorcycles and he’s learned how to be a cookie master. Whatever it is, try DIYing together.
8. Cook up a storm.
Even if you just make pasta or heat up a frozen lasagna, cooking together can be seriously fun—and romantic.
Somewhere near you people need help. Whether you serve sandwiches in a food kitchen, read to the elderly or start a clothing drive you can make a difference together. Maybe you can find ways for your school to become more green.
10. Check out a show
Go check out new local bands together at a coffee shop or battle of the bands. Maybe you’ll even get to see him dance!
No matter what, you’ve got options. What’s your favorite thing to do with your honey? Tell me in the comments!
