Do guys really care if you’re shaved down there when you have sex? My friends keep telling me their boyfriends like it when they are shaved, but I don’t know. Thanks.

Believe it or not, I’ve heard this question from quite a few ladies before. However, the answer isn’t as simple as you might think!

All guys have different tastes. Some do prefer nothing at all, either for aesthetic reasons or because it leads to increased sensitivity during sex. But many dudes like it when there’s at least something down there, whether “The Bikini Line,” “The Landing Strip,” or “The Moustache.” And yet still others are attracted to a more natural look. I have one buddy who actually favors what he calls “The Amazonian” – a style perhaps best described as “reminiscent of 1970s shag carpeting.”

Though I could continue to describe the different tastes of individuals I’ve surveyed (e.g. “This guy likes stripes, and that guy’s turned on by pubic hair in the shape of Abraham Lincoln.”) – I’d only be rattling off the subjective preferences of a few random males. Generally speaking, I’d say that most men like it when ladies groom in one way or another. Just as with the rest of your grooming habits (e.g. dental, nail, or skin care) anything that indicates that a woman cares for her body will usually turn a man on.

Ultimately, if you’re not yet sure what your boyfriend likes, or are trying to put your best foot forward with someone new, the best advice I can give is to encourage you to do things the way you like it. Whatever feels comfortable and looks nice to you should help to make you feel confident. And no matter what you choose, there is no style sexier than confidence.
