Our Favorite Bisexual/Lesbian gURL Celebrities

Just one of the openly bisexual celebs we heart.

Did you gURLs know that today, Oct. 11, is National Coming Out Day? Well, we do, and we decided to celebrate in our own way: by celebrating our favorite bisexual or lesbian gURL celebrities. Whether these stars are in a relationship with a gURL or a guy (some are even happily married to men), all have one thing in common — they’ve proudly admitted their sexuality to the world.

We hope that reading what these celebs had to say about their sexual orientation inspires you to feel comfortable with your own. So check ’em out, and then tell us your coming out story in the comments below.

Jessie J

After lots of speculation about her sexuality, Jessie J came out to a British radio station saying she is bisexual. Once she saw all the media attention that got her, she tweeted: “For all the people congratulating me on ‘coming out’ or confirming I’m ‘bi’ lol-I have NEVER hid my sexuality. I love who I love. I will never label my sexuality. If its a boy its a boy if its a girl its a girl.” She added: “Whatever I do in life SOMEONE somewhere will HATE it. Be it my music, my face, my clothes, my hair, my bum lol. It Is what it is. Let the haters hate. Live for the moment (sic).”

Angelina Jolie

She might have a million kids with Brad Pitt, but Angie has admitted many times that she's bisexual. She was even in a relationship with model Jenny Shimizu a few years ago.

Angelina has said, "If I fell in love with a woman tomorrow, would I feel that it's okay to want to kiss and touch her? If I fell in love with her? Absolutely! Yes! I love women and men equally and I see people and love as love, so I think it makes sense that a woman would know I'd appreciate and love her as much as I would a man."

Amy Winehouse

Before her tragic death, Amy was in an on-again, off-again relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil. But she played for the other team, also. She's said, “I like girls as well. I have had relationships with other women but that doesn't mean I don't still love Blake.”

She has also stated, "There is something about being with a woman that is very satisfying. I don't care what people think about me being bi - I do what feels good,”

Christina Aguilera

Maybe you guys remember that infamous kiss between Madonna, Britney Spears, and Christina at the VMA's in 2003? Well, it turns out Christina probably didn't really mind it that much.

In 2004, she told Zoo magazine: "I love experimenting with my sexuality. If that means girls then so be it. It would be wrong to hide this side of my personality. I love to see a girl with a good booty. The thing I hate is a girl who's got fake boobs and no butt."

Drew Barrymore

Drew has admitted to having sexual affairs and relationships with lots of different gURLs.. probably not that surprising, since she's always been such a free spirit. Once, when asked about her sexuality, Drew said, "Do I like women sexually? Yes, I do. Totally."

In 2004, Drew was quoted saying, "A woman and a woman together are beautiful, just as a man and a woman together are beautiful. Being with a woman is like exploring your own body, but through someone else. When I was younger I used to go with lots of women. Totally. I love it."

Amber Rose

Probably best known as Kanye West's ex-gURLfriend, Amber is another gURL who isn't afraid to admit her bisexuality.

She told Complex magazine, "I’m extremely open with my sexuality. I can be in love with a woman, I can be in love with a man. I’m not into bestiality [laughs] but as far as humans go, I definitely find beauty in everybody, whether they’re heavy-set, super-skinny, if they’re white, black, Indian, Asian, Spanish."

Evan Rachel Wood

Evan might have dated Marilyn Manson for three years, but there was a reason for that: the star claims she is into "androgyny in general".

Earlier this year, she talked to Esquire about her bisexuality for the first time, saying, "I've been that way since I can remember. I remember growing up and loving when I knew there was a girl like me who I looked up to. I figured I should return the favor. You don't have to be ashamed." She added, "I'm the dominant one. I'm opening the doors, I'm buying dinner. Yeah, I'm romantic."

Lady Gaga

Right now, when it comes to gay rights and the LGBT community in general, Gaga might be one of the first celebs you think of. She's openly admitted to having sex with gURLs, and she's said, "I'm girl-crazy too. It really depends on where I am. I love men, I love women and I love sex."

Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen came out in 1997 on the cover of Time magazine (back when coming out wasn't really as acceptable as it is now...), and she's been an inspiration to the LGBT community ever since. Her and Portia de Rossi have been married since 2008.

Jane Lynch

It might have taken Jane until she was 32-years-old to come out to her parents, but the Glee star knew she was gay by 12-years-old.

Her advice to others scared to come out? "Don't worry about society pigeonholing you or Hollywood pigeonholing you. Just don't pigeonhole yourself. Stay open."

Nicki Minaj

Okay, so some of Nicki's lyrics definitely make it seem like she's open with her bisexuality, like these: Excuse me little mama / But you could say I'm on duty / I'm lookin for a cutie / A real big ol' ghetto booty / I really like your kitty cat / and if you let me touch her / I know you're not a bluffer

But in an interview with Details, we got a little confused when Nicki said, "I just embrace all people of all lifestyles and I don't tell them they are bad people. And I say girls are beautiful and girls are sexy and they need to be told that, and if they don't have anyone to tell them that and mean it, I'm gonna tell them that. But I feel like people always wanna define me and I don't wanna be defined." So, is she or isn't she?

Jenna Jameson

Considering Jenna is a porn star who has slept with tons of gURLs (on camera), this one might not be so surprising. Jenna has said that off-camera, she's slept with only 30 men and over 100 women.

Jenna has said, "I'm definitely bisexual, and there have been times in my life that I've been so bisexual it's sick, I love girls. I'll never not look at a girl and think, 'How do you think she tastes?'" She has also said that sex with men is "gross", although recently she's claimed to be "totally hetero"... um, we kind of have a little trouble believing that.

Amber Heard

Although Amber is openly dating photographer Tasya van Ree, as anything in particular.

She told Playboy, "I don't label myself one way or another – I have had successful relationships with men and now a woman. I love who I love; it's the person that matters."

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay might be in a (kind of crazy) on-again, off-again relationship with Samantha Ronson, but her bisexuality came as a surprise to her as well as her fans.

When asked about her sexuality, she has said, "I never really thought about women before, it kind of just happened with Samantha. It surprised me."

Fergie hasn't said much about her sexuality, but she didn't seem to have any problems admitting that she's hooked up with gURLs before, stating: "I have had lesbian experiences in the past. But I started having sex quite late on -- after I was 18. I was raised a good Catholic girl. I won't say how many men I have slept with, although it's not many, but I am a very sexual person."

Megan Fox

Megan has admitted to being bisexual, and has openly talked about a possible relationship she might have had with a gURL.

She told Esquire: "I have no question in my mind about being bisexual. But I'm also a hypocrite: I would never date a girl who was bisexual, because that means they also sleep with men, and men are so dirty that I'd never want to sleep with a girl who had slept with a man." Um... we're a little confused. Isn't she married to a dude?

Anna Paquin

The True Blood star came out as a bisexual in 2010 when she participated in an ad for the Give a Damn campaign.

She defended her ad on her blog, saying, "I'm not someone who endlessly talks about her personal life for no reason, but obviously, as someone who identifies as bisexual, those are issues I really care about — and frankly, I don't see why everyone doesn't care about them. So when I was asked to participate in that PSA, it was just an obvious, "Well, of course I will,"

Nelly Furtado

The singer admitted to being bisexual, adding that she wants her own float in the gay pride parade. Well, at least she's not ashamed of her sexuality.

When Pink came out as a bisexual, she said that she's “not embarrassed about being bisexual, and that “love is pure and I try to keep it that way. This is who I am, what I feel.” Short and sweet!

Cynthia Nixon

The Sex and the City was more than happy to confirm that she was a lesbian, saying, “I was like, ‘Really, we can just confirm?’ So that’s just what we did. It was so fantastic.”

She has two children from her ex-husband, but she's now engaged to her current partner.

Vanessa Carlton

Vanessa announced her bisexuality on stage recently, telling the crowd, "I've never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman."

  • used to bein judged

Bisexuality means I am free and I am as likely to want to love a woman as I am likely to want to love a man, and what about that? Isn’t that what freedom implies? I consider myself a lesbian, but I’m a bisexual lesbian.
If you don’t like it then deal with it because its my life not yours

  • Hannah

Wow! Alot of my favorite celebrrties are either lesbian or bisexual!!! R.I.P Amy!!!!

    • Rafaela

Honestly just communicate evhryteing with her. Being best friends, you two must be close enough to talk to each other. Just sit her down and explain what is going on, slowly. If her reaction to it is oh my gosh, no this is too weird (read her body language) then back off a bit. At least you got it out in the open and some day when she’s comfortable (which I have a sneaky suspicion she is already) she’ll act upon her feelings towards you. Who knows, if you tell her, she might just respond in a kiss!I went through the same thing a few years ago. I was on the other end though. My best friend was interested in me. She told me how she felt and I appreciated it so much and we actually ended up together for about a year.Good luck!
