Obviously, the biggest change you’ll experience during puberty is the changes going on throughout your body. The average age for a gURL to start puberty is 10-years-old. That age isn’t the same for everyone — it can start as early as 7-years-old or as late as 13-years-old. The whole process can take anywhere between 1 1/2 years to 4 years.
So, what exactly is happening to your body? We’ve got the answers:
Your Breasts Start Developing
The first sign of puberty in gURLs is that you start to form breasts. Beginning to grow boobs is referred to as thelarche. Your breasts will develop in stages, so don’t expect them to go from nothing to huge overnight. You’ll experience little buds and swelling first, and gradually they’ll get bigger and more full. Don’t be surprised if they feel a little sore during this time.
You’re a Little Taller Than You Used To Be…
gURLs get taller during puberty, also known as a growth spurt. Ever heard of the term ‘growing pains’? Well, they really do exist. Your body suddenly starts growing much quicker than it did when you were little, so it’s normal to feel some aches and pains.
