Puberty

Okay, so what does the word even mean? Puberty is defined as the process of physical changes by which a child’s body becomes an adult body capable of reproduction. It is initiated by hormone signals from the brain to the gonads (sex organs). The word puberty comes from the Latin word puberatum, meaning age of maturity and manhood. It refers to the bodily changes of sexual maturation, and not the cultural aspects of being an adolescent.

Basically, puberty is when your body and mind stop being a little kid and start being an adult. When it comes to gURLs, your body is going through all sorts of wacky changes so that you can eventually get pregnant. It’s the first step towards becoming a woman.

Sounds a little scary? Well, we won’t lie, it can be, but don’t worry — you should never feel alone, because everyone goes through this. It might seem really embarrassing and totally cringe-worthy, but there’s no reason it should be.
