Would you wear fur?
The city of West Hollywood, California is taking a big stand for animal rights and has officially become the first city in the United States to ban the sale of fur apparel. Called The Fur Free West Hollywood campaign, they want to try to inspire other cities in the U.S. to do the same thing.
About 50 million animals are killed every year in order to produce fur clothing and accessories for people to wear. Fur is sometimes seen as a symbol of wealth and glamour, but for a lot of people, it’s just a symbol of animal cruelty.
One of the organizers of the campaign states, “Cities like West Hollywood and communities all around the country are recognizing that the fur trade is barbaric, cruel and not fashionable.” Do you think this could be a big step towards fur being banned everywhere?

So you think its beautiful to skin an innocent creature alive and throw their bleeding bodies into huge piles in dumpsters? To me that shows that you have no heart and no brain. The fact that you are able to say that tearing the skin from a living being “is nice lookin”, shows you have about as many brain cells as a tube of toothpaste!

fur is beautiful only on animals leave it where nature intended. and by the way designers don’t even bother making it look good they make crazy stuff and sell it for high prices anyways. thank you west hollywood you are the only smart city in the US right now.
This makes me so happy! I’m glad West Hollywood has taken this major step in banning fur! Fur is disgusting
Even if people disagreed they wouldn’t post a comment, that would be scary, there would be so much hate against them, I think that’s something to write about. I mean, I don’t wear fur, but I might, I don’t really care what I wear or what anyone else wears, I don’t pay that much attention.

So many animals are killed Just so people can wear their fur, it isn’t necessary to wear fur, in warm places or just for a season, it’s clearly just for fashion, which is kind of sick, you wouldn’t wear a rotting corpse, so why wear fur, it’s practically the same thing, torn from a dead animal!
Also, faux fur looks just as “nice” so if people really like it, can’t they just wear that? I agree with West Hollywood =D
