There are a few different types of racism:
This is the prejudicial treatment of a person based on their membership in a certain group or category. It goes as far as refusing to let people have certain opportunities. The United Nations has stated, “Discriminatory behaviors take many forms, but they all involve some form of exclusion or rejection.”
There is racial and ethnic discrimination; sex, gender and gender identification discrimination; employment discrimination; sexual orientation discrimination; disability discrimination; religious discrimination and more. This is basically discriminating against someone because of their race, their background, whether they’re a gURL or a boy, their religion, if they have any disabilities, or if they’re gay or straight or bisexual.
Stereotyping is a form of discrimination, because it’s making an assumption about a group of people based on what group they belong to.
