We’re so used to seeing Heather Morris as funny and ditzy Brittany on Glee that we were pretty surprised to see the pictures from her latest photo shoot. Heather sports a nasty looking black eye in these pictures shot by photographer Tyler Shields, and (not surprisingly) it’s creating a lot of controversy.
Tyler told Us Weekly that he wanted to make Heather look like a “subversive ‘Barbie style’ housewife.” He went on to say, “Our shoot poses a lot of questions, but just like in real life, Heather is definitely not a victim. More like a really liberated woman.”
Truthfully we don’t really get it, and we think the whole thing is making light of domestic violence, which is obviously a very serious issue. Check out the other pictures below.

I think these pictures supposed to portray what men think of what they can do .. because we are woman. That they can beat us, and all were ever good for is doing things around the house?
I think its promoting abuse but sexism too.
But idk. It’s still creepy.
I think that they’re should be more photos like this out there. We need to see groundbreaking things that tell the truth. Even though they dress so happily, there is abuse. It’s shedding light on the coverup. It’s wonderful and I applaud it.
I don’t think it is glamorizing domestic violence. I think that it is saying that we have the power to STOP it.
wow. I’m not sure this sort of photo set is exactly appropriate. It would be one thing to take a photo for recognition that there are people out there that need help, but this photo shoot looks like it’s suppose to be sexy and sort of comes off as a parody towards the subject of abuse. I don’t mean to be a stick in the mud about the photo pop culture theses days, but something like this is a little extreme, especially when there are real people who are going through things like this. Im sure the people who really have been abused didn’t feel the emotions that these photos are putting out : It’s sexy to be abused
To be honest. I don’t think this has much to do with domestic violence, I think it just has connotations of it, what with the iron and the housewife styled dress.
I don’t really like the shoot. I think it’s pointless and doesn’t seem to make any point at all.
At the same time i don’t think anyone would look at the shoot and think..they’re making a joke out of domestic violence, unless it had been brought up by someone beforehand.
I’d never look at this and link it to domestic violence to be honest.
I mean..you can make anything into art but this doesn’t even look good. It is poking fun at something that isn’t funny, which is wrong to begin with but it doesn’t make much sense. She doesn’t look like a liberated women, she looks sadistic.
This is wrong,They make domestic violence look funny and in no way is it funny. This disgusts me.
That is just stupid. People go through horrible things like being beaten every day, and these photos are supposed to be seen as cool or artistic? I don’t think so. There just plain wrong and creepy.
This was not the way to do this…they could have made a really strong point, if the photographer chose to portray it in a darker, more serious tone, but instead these just look stupid.
I don’t really get it. What does he mean by “subversive ‘Barbie style’ housewife.? I mean I guess its “art” everyone has the right to express themselves in their own way. Its just kinda weird and I think in our society its hard not to look at this like its not a big deal.

I don`t think it glamorizes it, but it makes it a joke. SO people are even less likely to take it seriously. This can lead younger more impressionable people to believe women bring unto themselves or should get a slap if they “iron a shirt wrong “. It sheds a comedic light on it, but its nothing to laugh about. My mom went through it and trust me it wasn`t pretty as they make it seem here.
domestic violence is not a joke, and this is not the time or day to mock it…..it happens every day to some people. and to tell the truth the pictures look incredibly stupid, it definitly looks like it caused controversy. could’ve been a publicity stunt to try to up her career and popularity….looks like that might’ve back fired. why did she even agree to a shoot with this concept?
I have to admit that i am quite offended by this. My stepdad abused my mom for five years. This is making domestic violence look like something to laugh at. Plus the pictures are actually just really stupid. This whole thing is not cool.
Not only do the pictures look incredibly stupid, this is so wrong. I understand the point that the photographer was trying to make with the make-up and stuff… but I don’t understand why he would even want to do something like that and portray it in this silly manner. I just don’t get it.

I think it’s inappropriate. It’s glorifying domestic violence. It’s making a serious issue look like it’s something too laugh at. And it’s not.
i cant believe ppl would really play a role in this type of stuff, domestic violence is a verys erious issue and should be portrayed so lighly

yea that’s kind of not cool. its nice to get the message across and also to use a celebrity most teens know; but those pictures make it look like a joke, when its not.
