Demi Lovato Defends Her Weight Gain On Twitter And We’re Loving Her Confidence

We know it's not just us - Demi looks freakin' awesome.

We think that Demi Lovato looked pretty freakin’ awesome at the 2011 MTV VMAs. And despite the mean and unnecessary feedback she got from the media on her weight gain, Demi thought she looked pretty rad, too.

Demi proved to be even more amazing than we already knew she was when she defended her weight on Twitter, saying, “‘I’ve gained weight. Get over it. That’s what happens when you get out of treatment for AN EATING DISORDER.”

She deleted the tweet later, but then added a new one: “Guess what, I’m healthy and happy, and if you’re hating on my weight you obviously aren’t. 🙂 #UNBROKEN” We’re pretty sure we’ve never been so proud of our gURL.

WDYT, ladies? Are people being way too harsh about Demi’s weight? Do you think she looked good at the VMAs? Are you happy she defended herself? Let us know in the comments!

I thought she was pretty in the past too but I didn’t know she had an eating disorder. I’m glad she recovered.

  • Lisa

    she’s pretty

  • Brie

She’s even more beautiful now, gosh haters back off. At least she isn’t 98 pounds or 300 pounds

Gawd! Thats horrible. Just because she was a actress and she was wicked thin then, that doesn’t mean she has to be thin. Personally, I think they need to make shows about girls who are not extremely thin, because not everygirl is thin, and Hollywood has to learn how to get over that.

I totally agree with you Hannah! I dont know when people are gonna get that through their heads that women are supposed to be like that. everyones too worried about being twig thin skinny. Why dont women embrace their curves anymore?

  • Hannah

she looks pretty. she is not fat. that’s what women are suppose to look like. we’re suppose to have hips and meat on our bones.

I think it’s amazing that she defended her self. YOU GO GIRL! However I also think she gained some weight, but considering all she’s going through, she should be four hundred pounds. It’s rude and cruel that people are insulting someone who is trying to recover from such an awful experience. This is what happens to kids who grow up in the spotlight. Lastly to Demi: ignore all the negative comments and be the best you can be in a healthy way! You’re an inspiration, truly.

She looks beautiful, don’t be haters twitter ppl.

I thought she looked AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what women are supposed to look like, Healthy, and Happy. Not Skinny and Starving

The people who hate on weight gain are the people who have weight problems themselves. And it will suck for the people who are hating to find out later on it was because of an eating disorder.
