Here’s a first: instead of paying a celebrity ridiculous amounts of money to be seen in their clothes, this clothing label is willing to pay Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino ridiculous amounts of money to not be seen in their clothes.
If you watched an episode of Jersey Shore this season, you probably noticed The Situation’s bright Abercrombie & Fitch sweatpants (they were kind of hard to miss). Well, Abercrombie noticed that too, and they’re really not happy about it.
Abercrombie released this statement: “We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans.” Looks like they aren’t a fan of The Situation’s drunken antics and creepy pick-up lines.
In the past, Abercrombie has dealt with allegations of discrimination against Asian, African-American and female employees.
WDYT, gURLs? Do you think this is funny or really unfair? Is this totally ridiculous or you can understand why they wouldn’t want The Situation wearing their brand? Discuss below!
