Soul Surfer (Now on Blu-ray™/DVD Combo Pack & DVD), the true story of pro surfer Bethany Hamilton who lost her arm in a shark attack and became determined to get back on the board basically inspired our pants off. And it got us thinkin’… what inspires you in your day-to-day life?
Here’s what real gURL members like you said on the boards:
“My mom, because she inspires me to live my dreams and not to be afraid to stand up for myself.”
-PrettyandUnpretty
“So many people inspire me, but people that spring to mind now are Marie Curie, Eric Kandel, Albert Einstein, Aung San Suu Kyi and the Dalai Lama. (Nobel prizes are required, haha.)”
-illusione
“A lot of the women on this board have inspired me to be strong and independent and smart about sex, and to never let anyone make me feel ashamed of my sexuality. They’ve partially inspired me to become a really big feminist, which I’m so thankful for. And even if I don’t yet, I’m inspired by many women on here to love my body, no matter what society says. I haven’t accepted how I look yet, but hearing the stories and the attitudes of other gURLs is helping me get there.”

Always the best content from these prdioogius writers.
My sister inspires me. She’s a friendly person who can always keep her spirits high and can constantly keep a smile on her face through thick and thin. She’s a wonderful person in general and can keep you happy for the entire rest of the day with just one smile. I wish I could be more like her, because she’s happy to be her and refuses to be like anybody else. Like a colorful flower in the midst of a garden of grey and dull flowers. She’s happy with the way she is and she wouldn’t want to change a thing, she enjoys being herself and nobody can ever change that for her. She is truly unique, but what I love the most is her personality. She isn’t a quitter. Nobody can break her, she’s as strong as ever and through all of her tears she still fights harder everyday. She is a true inspiration to me
My mom. When she was dealing with cancer she still had the strength to take care me and my brother. She always put on a facade that she was alright but I knew she wasn’t. I want to be strong like she was.
