Just like in your life, at gURL, things are always changing. Okay, so maybe they haven’t changed for a while around here, but today is one of those crazy milestone days…you know, like when you have your first kiss, or graduate high school, or get your first car. It’s that kind of big day, because (drumroll…)
The new and improved gURL.com is finally here! (And we feel like a shiny new car, the 2011 2012 model, even!)
We’re so excited…we’re actually kinda speechless, which is weird, because on this site, you know we like to talk about anything and everything. We know we’ve been promising a new gURL for what seems like forever, and we’re so happy to finally share it with you. We’ve listened hard to everything you have to say and we really hope you like it as much as we do.
But what we love so much about our readers is that if there is something you don’t like, we know you’ll tell us. And we expect you to. If you see a broken link, or something’s not working right, or if you can’t find a game you liked on the old site, let us know in the comments below. We want to hear that stuff too.
And before we go, a note about the boards. From this point forward, gURL will be changing a little bit every day. We have some specific plans for the message boards (you’ll notice the current style and colors have changed a bit), so you should see those new features appearing very soon!
What do you think of the new gURL? Share your thoughts below.

Can You Trust Him?
Lame. I grew up with this site, and I loved how different it was from the mainstream steryotypical girl sites. I stopped going on it for a while once they had the webcomic controversy and some of my favorite artists were fired, and now that I look at it, I think it’s horrendous. It’s so conformist now, and all about perverted humor and stereotypical interests. Thumbs all the way down.
I LOVED the old site. I spent a great deal of my younger years on here. Now the site looks totally different and not in a good way. It seems to have conformed to a more commercial and stereotypical look. It lost a lot of the boldness/uniqueness that it had before. I can’t find any of the amazing games that you use to have. Why on earth would you switch such amazing games for a few lame dress up games that barely work? Good for you for attempting new things, but it was a failure. Please bring back the old games… and a but of the old style…. I lost respect for the site now that it has become a prototypical “girl” site. I LOVED gurl and I am so very sad to see it come to this. Please tweak things to bring back the uniqueness and bring back some of the best games on the internet.
I like hte older gurl, because I used to have an account on here and I liked that version. But I lost my password and got a new email so I decided to make an ew account. And I was like,”WHOA WTF HAPPENED?!?!?!:” hahaha But the new gURL is cool too. ;D
New page looks GREAT, but cannot change siggy
FIX??
Hey guys! Well I was looking at the freebies and all that jazz and when I clicked on one it would say it was expired(except one I think) and I would like to make a suggestion that you have a symbol of some sorts saying whether or not it is still active?
I miss the old GURL it’s harder to find stuff now >:(
I tried to play the game where you get to design a bathing suit but when I clicked on the link, it brought me to the old site but the game would never load. think you can help?
Thanks for the heads up! We’re having some issues with the games currently, but we’re hard at work figuring this problem out. Check back soon!
does anyone know where to find the winners’ list for the freebies?
Sure, the winner’s list is available here: http://www.gurl.com/gurl-grabs/winners-list/
Not too bad, kinda pretty. Sends a different message. I kinda felt that the old Gurl was a place that defied convention… but now it seems like it’s conforming a bit…
I agree, this new layout does look like it’s conforming. I feel less empowered and more ‘pretty’ for coming here.
I’m glad that someone else sees this! I feel that they’re prolly trying to target a more mainstream audience.
how do i write to heather? i cant find where to email her???
You can always write to heather@gurl.com — and pretty soon we’ll have an easy to use form right on the Help Me Heather pages where you can write to her. Check back for that tomorrow!
I hate it…I liked the vintage gURL better, it was sooo much easier to find things.
The design a gown game was my favorite! Now it won’t load. Everything else looks good though.
I love it, it looks way better!
this is very complicated!
i lik it! the old one was a little depressing…
A change is always good.
I LUV IT. i loved the old look too but change is always good. ;]
so far so good. no complaints from me.
