UPDATE: J.K. Rowling Launches Pottermore, Freaks Us Out

Accio Book 8!

A very mysterious website popped up recently that is seriously playing with our hearts.

|Who’s toying with your emotions? Vent about ’em on the Shout Out Boards!|

If you go to Pottermore.com, all you’ll see is the word POTTERMORE (which obviously spells out “More Potter”), a few owls, and J.K. Rowling’s signature. And then there’s THIS! What does it mean?!

WDYT? Would you read an 8th Harry Potter book? Would you see another HP movie (after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, of course)? Or are you so over the whole franchise? Discuss!

UPDATE: The site is now live! It looks like we aren’t going to be getting another book (tear!) Pottermore is  an “online experience” revolving around the premiere of the Harry Potter books in eBook form.

The Daily What reports: “On entering… you choose a magic username and begin your experience. As you move through the chapters, you can read and share exclusive writing from J.K. Rowling, and, just as Harry joins Hogwarts, so can you. You visit Diagon Alley, get sorted into a house, cast spells and mix potions to help your house compete for the House Cup….The site will contain ‘extensive new material about the characters, places and objects in the much-loved stories,’ written by Rowling herself.”

So, are you let down or excited?

Honestly. Those books were horrible. Her writing was so amateur, and the books dragged on and on and on. I just don’t like them. The movies were good though 🙂

The books are more detailed. Some people like to read and some don’t. I could read allday. I completely understand your opion tho. I personally love the books, and love the movies too. 🙂

I would totally read another Harry Potter book! The movies of course do not hold a candle to the depths her books reach, but still good regardless. Interesting YouTube page I must say.
I don’t know that she’ll have made another Harry Potter book. She did so well at tying up loose ends (and killing off a large portion of the cast). It would be great, but do we really want her to drag it on longer? I liked the series and was kind of sad when it ended, but if it keeps going how many more will there be? And won’t another book just leave us wanting one more and then another?
All those owls don’t exactly look the Harry Potter type, I could be wrong, and I’d be okay with that.

I hope It’s another book! I love Harry Potter! I read somewhere that It’s not a new Harry Potter book though, hopefully that’s not true.

Alls I’m saying is, I’m going to cry if it’s something that’s not worth the hype, like Hogwarts: A History or something

  • Lola

I love Harry Potter! I’ve had a crush on Harry Potter since the first movie…I just thought the whole nerdy-thing was just my kind of guy I liked. Ever since him, I’ve always had a “thing” for guys with brown hair and glasses…haha. I would totally read a 8th book, but obviously, it would be about their kids…since the ending of Harry Potter ends with everyone all grown up with kids. Maybe in their kid’s perspective? Or Harry’s adulthood? Exciting stuff.

This is tantalizing! Do you realize if you try to do anything on the YouTube page, it bounces? So mysterious!
