Everyone has their own lifestyles and choices. However I believe that, we should eat what is available to us, and that all depends on customs and cultures. It is bad to eat cows in India ( right??) and and southeast asian countries they are known to eat many insects and dogs, or anything pretty much! Eskimo people and Scandinavian and Japanese are known to eat whales, pretty much their entire history. I’m not for animal rights AT ALLL. I believe what PETA does is a load of hypocrisy. However I do believe in ANIMAL WELFARE, and humane treatment of them. I can honestly I would eat any animal, as long as they were caught or raised, humanely, and slaughtered humanely. As long as they had a respected, well deserved life, with minimal suffering. I believe in family farms and locally raised food. I’m completely against the big companies, all they care about obviously is the money. And now they’re trying to pretend they’re organic and “cagefree”. Bunch of bs. Only way to know for sure is to visit the farm yourself:)
I’m sorry, but I tried giving up red meat for 40days of lent and it was hell! Also I am not very fond of tofu and wouldn’t want to miss out on protein. I have just seen the meet your meat video, however I know that me not eating meat will not stop that level of cruelty. Secondly, In Ghana (in West Africa) animals aren’t treated like that. They are treated with care and when the time comes to slaughter the cattle/poultry they aren’t abused as seen on that video. The aim of that video is to persuade people into vegetarianism, so it would obviously highlight the wrong things about eating battery-produced meat. Those who it really bothers, eat organic, free-range products where the animals aren’t put under such abuse.
