Elizabeth Taylor, one of gURL’s favorite women, has passed away at the age of 79.

|Ms. Taylor will join the list of the other great dead women who we love.|

According to CNN, the legendary actress “died peacefully today in Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.” She had been hospitalized six weeks ago with congestive heart failure, and was not able to recover.

Besides starring in amazing films, Elizabeth notably fought against AIDS with her Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. The glamorous star was also known for some pretty amazing quotes:
