I’m so sick of the way high school boys act. When does the horniness in a guy usually start to wear off? I’m ready to date someone who is just thinking about sex 24/7.

When boys are going through puberty, their testosterone springs up faster than, well, you know. Plus, their hormones are in overdrive. Really, they can’t help it. (Though that’s never a reason for them to treat gURLs with disrespect.)Puberty is a great excuse for boys who are in their early teenage years, but usually puberty is pretty much complete by 16 or 17. At that age, they start feeling like a man and suddenly have urges they didn’t really have before. They notice girls more, they look at them differently, and they think about them… 24/7. Plus, it doesn’t help that a guy’s amygdala (the part of the brain that controls sexual urges) is twice the size of a gURL’s.

Eventually guys do mature, some faster than others. They continue to think about sex — sometimes a whole lot — but they also think about other things, like sports and love and work. gURLs generally mature faster than boys (about one to two years faster — take that, boys!), which is why many gURLs choose to date (slightly) older guys…their brains are at the same maturation level.
