Where can I get birth control (the shot) that doesn’t ask for insurance information? I want to go on birth control but I don’t want my parents to know about it. And if they ask for insurance, my parents will know I got it. Can you help me?
Before you make your decision about getting the shot, make sure you have covered all your bases and you really think that the shot is the best way to go. Kudos for reaching out and getting info about birth control! Finding the best method for your body is important and the experts at Planned Parenthood will be able to point you in the right direction.
You can also talk to your doctor about the best methods for your body, as well. Next time you have a regular appointment, you can ask your doctor questions about birth control and he/she will be able to talk to you about insurance and payments. If you’re too shy, you could call in and speak to a nurse later about it. Remember: you’re not the first one to ask these questions – they’ve heard it all before.
Be safe!
take care,
heather.
