Q: Am i still a virgin if he broke my hymen and then we stopped?
A: Kind of.
If you ask me, I’d say sure. If you feel like you didn’t "complete" sex and want to call yourself a virgin, then go for it.
Of course, if you ask someone else you might get a slightly different answer. That’s because a lot of people believe you lose your virginity the first time you have vaginal sex (and some think you lose it from oral or anal sex), even if neither person has an orgasm.
But whatever you call yourself won’t change a few facts on the ground. For example, that having a penis in your vagina–even for a few minutes–can expose you to STDs, and that you have been sexually intimate with a partner.
There’s no definitive guide to sexual terminology (just ask the guy who thought monogamy didn’t refer to blow jobs or the girl who thought abstinence didn’t include anal).
However, there are some guidelines to sexual ethics that might apply to you.
1) Practice safer sex.
2) Get tested for STDs.
3) If you have one, tell your sex partners, or don’t have sex until you know it’s gone.
4) Don’t lie.
Look, if the question of your virginity comes up in the future, you can always be honest and tell someone what you told me. You just aren’t sure what your status is.
